Irish Misstep

The scene:  I am with my girlfriend visiting her family.  I am nervous, so I make a joke.  It’s St. Patrick’s Day, so I joke about Irish drunks.

What I forgot:  My girlfriend’s family has an Irish background.

The repercussions:  They reminded me of that.  It was awkward.  D’oh.

But you know what?  I don’t think they’re really Irish, because I know that Irish people have a great sense of humour.

Happy Saint Patties Day everyone!

DRAGONE out.

You also might want to watch it with “Patties”. Many Irish people will get pissed about this, because apparently, Paddy is short for Patrick, Patty is short for Patrica, and Patties are meat.

Don’t worry, if they are really Irish they’ll forget all about it when they sober up
