Sun. Hot. I’ve been in the habit of imitating my 2-year-old lately. He talks in one word statements. But hey, isn’t that the latest cool style of writing? Must. Listen. More. To. Kids. Nah, I don’t think I have the hang of it yet. Maybe I’ll listen to William Shatner more. No. Don’t do. That!
My little guy knows that the Sun is hot. Some adults, myself included, still do not. The thing is, sunscreen is just too overprotective these days. Those SPF numbers are getting ridiculously high. I prefer a low number so I can burn just a little bit.
But since I don’t have a low SPF number sunscreen, I choose to use none at all for part of the day, then wack on the overprotective guard for the other half.
The trick is to know when to do it. My method is to squeeze different parts of my exposed skin, such as arms, shoulders, forehead, etc. When you feel just that little bit of burning sensation, that’s the time. Because as we all know, if you wait too long then your skin continues to burn for a couple of hours afterwards. And then, you’re one fried piece of chicken. Mmmmm. Chicken.
Even Batman knows. Sun. Hot. Burn. Ouchy.
